All fields are closed for training today. Monday June 3

 

At last night’s Executive Committee meeting, David Brownhill made the difficult decision to resign as President of our Club.

The Committee extends our deepest gratitude to David for his outstanding leadership over many years. His dedication and countless hours of hard work have been instrumental in growing and strengthening GwawleyBay Football Club. Under his guidance, we have become a true family Club and the best Club in the Sutherland Shire.

 

Beyond his role as President, David has been a friend to everyone within the Club, fostering a spirit of camaraderie, friendship, and mutual support.

While we are saddened by his departure, we fully respect David’s decision to do what is in the best interest of himself, his family, and his business.

In addition, Dino Psirakis has chosen to step down as Junior Vice President. We thank Dino for his contribution over the past year and his passion for the Club and the game.

We have consulted with the Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA), and they have advised that our Vice President, Janine McCrohon, will effective immediately be Acting President. Thank you for your understanding, and please support Janine during this transition.

Wet Weather Field Closure –  MON 13 , TUES 14, WED 15, THURS 16 MAY 2024

Council  has made the decision to close all turf playing Fields up to and including Thursday 16th of May 2024. At the moment, fields will open again on Friday May 17th

Please be advised all Sutherland Shire Council turf playing fields are closed Saturday 11 May, Sunday 12 May and Monday 13th May 2024, due to recent and ongoing wet weather.

This decision has not been taken lightly and we appreciate the impact that this has on your sport.

However, its important that preserve these assets for the whole community to enjoy and ensure that all grounds can be utilised for the remainder of the season. 

Update regarding Council Closure of Turf Playing Fields
Please be advised all Sutherland Shire Council turf playing fields are closed Wednesday 8 May, Thursday 9 May, & Friday 10 May 2024 due to recent and ongoing wet weather.

A decision regarding weekend competition use will be made by approx. 10am this Friday 10 May.
